In the interview, Linda Barson's lawyer stated she is in the process of filling a lawsuit and they are currently attempting to obtain additional evidence from authorities.
Venus Williams' lawyer also released a statement on behalf of her client, "Ms. Williams entered the intersection on a green light. This is an unfortunate accident and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one."
On Friday, The New York Times reported that the daughter of Jerome Barson, the man killed in the attack, has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Venus.
Because Williams was unhurt in the accident, she has been able to continue practicing for her tennis game, but her coach David Witt, says she isn't unfazed by the accident.
"“It’s tough on her, but she’s trying to stay positive and taking it one day at a time,” Witt told the New York Times “She wants to focus on the tennis here.”
