Glen Campbell, musical legend, passed away at age 81 on Tuesday, August 8th after his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The singer had multiple top hits, but was most famously known for his song, “Rhinestone Cowboy.”
Senator John McCain released a statement regarding Campbell’s death shortly after multiple sources confirmed the sad news to the public. In a Twitter post, he stated that he was “saddened” by his passing.
McCain commented on Campbell’s death again on Wednesday, August 9th. He shared a video clip from CBS News and said, “Thanks for the memories!”
