Days ago, Democratic U.S. Senator Al Franken was accused of sexual misconduct by 44-year-old American model and reporter Leeann Tweeden. The incident reportedly occurred while Frank was a comedian in 2006, before he was in office.
On Thursday, November 16th, Tweeden came forward with her story by sharing a photo of Franken groping her breasts. She also revealed that Franken forcibly kissed her in what was meant to be rehearsal for a skit, but became very uncomfortable.
Franken issued a lengthy statement, apologizing for his actions, but also claiming he didn’t remember the incident quite the same as she did. Additionally, he agreed to cooperate in an investigation.
Before the weekend, a second woman accused Franken of stalking and harassment. Conservative radio talk show host Melanie Morgan claimed that in 2000, she got in a disagreement with Franken while making an appearance on an ABC show. His “obsessive” and “creepy” behavior following the incident eventually led her to get police involved.
On Sunday, a third accuser came forward—the first one to accuse Franken of sexual misconduct while he was in office. According to CNN, 33-year-old Lindsay Menz said the Senator “grabbed her buttocks” at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010 while posing for a picture.
Menz told CNN, "[Franken] pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear. It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek. It wasn't around my waist. It wasn't around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt."
Franken responded, "I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don't remember taking this picture. I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected."
Even after three different accusations, Franken is not expected to resign. Watch the Fox News video below for more information.
