Tad Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas were discovered in a remote region of northern California. The pair had been hiding out inside of a very basic cabin in a secluded area.
Originally, a caretaker for the property where the cabin is located told them they could stay there after Tad Cummins asked for food, gas, and shelter.
The caretaker, a man named Griffin Barry, is credited with their discovery. He recognized their vehicle and Tad from the Amber Alert posters and called local authorities. Police then waited for Cummins to emerge from the cabin before making their move and capturing the accused kidnapper.
