Since President Donald Trump recently responded to the protesting taking place in NFL games during the national anthem, many professional football players and coaches have been outraged. After Trump suggested that players partaking in this type of protesting should be fired, the protests actually worsened.

Many teams, along with their coaches and other NFL members, decided to kneel during our country’s infamous theme song. However, one team’s statement, in particular, sparked fury in conservatives.

The Seattle Seahawks released a statement in relation to the national anthem prior to their game against the Tennessee Titans. Ultimately, the Seahawks informed the public that they would not participate in the national anthem at all.

Instead of kneeling, the Seahawks stayed in the locker room, according to the NFL’s official website. The Titans also chose to stay in their locker room during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

The statement read, “As a team, we have decided we will not participate in the national anthem. We will not stand for the injustice that has plagued people of color in this country.”

Conservatives furiously responded on social media, stating that the team is disrespecting the flag. Others made it clear that this is the exact reason people are boycotting the NFL by not watching certain games.
