Sadie Robertson, daughter of Willie Robertson and "Duck Dynasty" star, is ready to celebrate two years of dating her boyfriend Blake Coward. But dating as a Christian couple these days runs opposite in many ways to the "normal" relationships of the world.
According to Christianity Today, Sadie opened up about her relationship on Instagram. She says Blake treats her like a princess.
She explains, "[His] looks are pretty great. He respects me. He makes me feel special. He makes me feel loved."
And he's been able to do that even though they live several hours apart. He recently surprised her by driving four hours to see her before she left for two weeks for an appearance at Winter Jam.
But what does Sadie see as Blake's best quality in their relationship?
Sadie says, "I love him because he loves God way more than he loves me. He respects me. He makes me feel special. He makes me feel loved, and most importantly I can see Jesus through the way Blake lives his life."
But developing their relationship with each other and their relationship with Christ hasn't always been easy.
She explains, "We have come a long way & been through some tough stuff, but the way we have grown through the Lord is what I am truly thankful for."
And dating the granddaughter of Phil Robertson certainly takes some bravery. According to Independent Journal, the Robertson family patriarch had a some words for Blake when he first met him.
“You hurt her, I’ll hurt you. I’m watching you like a hawk, and I’ll break your legs if you do anything to her.”
