Members from the band “Journey,” very well-known for their hit song “Don’t Stop Believin’,” visited the White House recently. Jonathan Cain (keyboardist), Arnel Pineda (lead singer), and Ross Valory (bass) appeared in the White House briefing room for conversation and photos.

Neal Schon (lead guitarist), was not present and expressed his outrage following his band members’ visit via social media. On Facebook, he stated, “I will remain strong and consistent with the belief we’ve always shared and agreed upon - Journey should never be used and exploited by anyone, especially band members for politics or any one religion.”

He clarified, “Journey was not there,” but only three band members were and he was upset with the fact that the media presented it differently. At the end of his post, he mentioned that his lack of knowledge regarding the visit showed “Divide,” a common term used by liberals against Trump.

Despite keeping political and religious beliefs separate, Breitbart reported that Jonathan Cain’s wife Paula has been referred to as President Trump’s “spiritual advisor.” Given this information, a difference in beliefs has been an issue prior to the recent White House visit. After the disagreement went public, rumors circulated about the band breaking up. Schon responded to the rumors on Twitter shortly after.

Since Trump became president, politics have continued to interfere with professional relationships, friendships, and even marriages. Living in a society where the majority of the media and Hollywood names publicly lean towards the left, it is difficult for people to speak up about their conservative values.

As one Hollywood comedian said, “Trump, they have come out guns blazing against him, but even though I don't like everything he does, why, heck, darn it, I think he deserves some sort of praise… but you can't say that in Hollywood."
