Earlier this month, reports came in that Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick were seen eating dinner together at one of Rodger’s favorite restaurants, fueling rumors that they were more than just friends.

In 2017, Rodger and Patrick had both ended long-term relationships with other people. Rodgers had stopped seeing actress Olivia Munn, whereas Danica Patrick called it quits with fellow racecar driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

That left both of them footloose and fancy-free. Once it went public that they were seen together shortly after Christmas at a restaurant, kissing and hugging, rumors began to surface that their friendship was more than just, well, friends.

The rumors as of Monday have been satisfied, according to the Associated Press. They’re a couple.

“Yes, Aaron and I are dating,” Patrick told the AP, showing no hint of shyness in letting their relationship become public.

Though Patrick is a self-professed Chicago Bears fan, she told Rodgers that she’d root for him as a player. This was in 2012, when they met for the ESPY Awards.

“I told him a long time ago I’d always root for him as a player,” said Patrick. “Now, I am probably going to cheer for the whole team. Take out the word ‘probably.’ Now I’m going to cheer for the whole team.”

The high-profile romance is one that may be comfortable for Rodgers and Patrick, who are used to the limelight. It may also be that Patrick’s new schedule may give her more time to spend with Rodgers.

Patrick is planning to stop racing after the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500. She’d like to focus more on her brand, which includes a health book. This may give her more time to watch Rodgers on Sundays; however, Rodger’s health is in repair following a season spent on the inactive list, due to an injury.
