On Monday, Faith, Family, America published an story titled “Is The Democratic Party Shifting on Life Issues?” This article informed readers about a recent tweet by Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman, Rep. Ben Bay Lujan, who announced that the party will not have a “litmus test” on abortion and hence will financially back pro-life candidates in 2018.

In reaction to this announcement, comedian Rosie O’Donnell has a message for women: form a pro-abortion political party if the Democrats support pro-life candidates in 2018. O'Donnell gave this message in an angry tweet directed toward Rep. Ben Bay Lujan for suggesting that the Democratic Party will back pro-life candidate.

“Women should form our own party” if the Democrats support pro-life congressional candidates, tweeted O’Donnell on Tuesday.

The Daily Caller believes that some within the Democratic Party, after their embarrassing defeat in the 2016 election, are ready to seriously consider new ways to attract blue collar Americans. This is what prompted Lujan’s comment that the Democratic Party may be willing to back pro-life candidates in the upcoming elections.

Last year, the party adopted an uncompromising new platform calling for taxpayer funded support of abortion on demand. It might be that the Democratic Party realizes that an uncompromising pro-abortion stance is not popular with blue collar Americans, and that something needs to be done if they were going to have success in the 2018 midterms. Indeed, even 40 percent of Democrats themselves, says Pew Research, believe that abortion is morally wrong, and 28 percent say that abortion should be illegal in most or all cases.

According to LifeSite news, the Democratic Party has been experiencing criticism from many of its own members over its pro-abortion platform. Criticism is coming from a variety of national party leaders, politicians, and the Democrats for Life, who have urged the Democratic Party to welcome candidates who support the right to life. For example, LifeSite news reports that Arkansas Democratic leaders have made it clear that they will welcome pro-life candidate in their state.

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Rosie O’Donnell has caused an outrage. Recently, she implied that Donald Trump should be pushed off a cliff, which you can read more about here.
