Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson shocked Republicans around the country when he ended his presidential campaign and endorsed Donald Trump.
It was a surprise because only months prior in the heated election season, Trump had hurled a barrage of attacks at Carson, comparing him to a child molester and accusing him of being a pathological liar amongst many other nasty things.
So, why, after heated and personal attacks did Carson stand side by side with Donald Trump and offer an enthusiastic endorsement for him? According to the Blaze, Carson’s endorsement was bought with the promise that he would be given a job in Trump’s administration.
“I will be doing things, certainly in an advisory capacity,” Carson said in a recent interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg.
Malzberg asked Carson if that has been a talking point when Carson met with Trump prior to his endorsement. “Yes,” Carson replied. “We haven’t hammered out all the details, but it is very important that we work together in this country.”
Malzberg pressed Carson on the issue. “Is it a cabinet position, sir?”
“I’m not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid,” Carson replied.
