Politics is a game of pandering and being opportunistic, such is the reason why you will see and hear a politician say a particular thing only to have them act in the complete opposite way a short while later. Pandering is precisely the game that the Democrats are playing.
As soon as Donald Trump said that Judge Gonzalo Curiel should be removed from the Trump University case because of his Mexican heritage and ties to pro-illegal immigration groups, Democrats and even some Republicans started declaring Trump to be a racist.
“I don’t think the framers envisioned a presidential candidate accusing a judge of being incapable of reaching a fair decision because of his ethnic heritage,” Vice President Joe Biden said in opposition to Trump’s comments.
“Trump is picking on someone who is ethically bound not to defend himself, exactly what you would expect from a thin-skinned, racist bully,” Senator Elizabeth Warren said.
The only problem with the outrage is that it is entirely fake and self-serving. Rewind to 2014 when Obama’s Department of Justice forced immigration judge A. Ashley Tabaddor to recuse herself from all immigration cases involving Iranians because she herself is an Iranian-American. According to the Daily Caller, Tabaddor sued the DOJ and won $200,000.
No Democrat accused Obama or the Department of Justice of racism for blocking a judge based because of her race. But now that Trump is saying what amounts to the same thing, they scream “Racism” from their soapboxes and point to it as a reason he should be disqualified from being president.
