Three people close to President Trump told the New York Times that Trump has decided to remove Anthony Scaramucci from his position as communications director. This removal comes a mere ten days after his appointment turned the White House upside down, leading to the resignation of Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus.
This decision also comes days after Scaramucci’s expletive-ridden diatribe against Priebus and Bannon. Last week, reports also revealed that Scaramucci’s wife had filed for divorce while still nine months pregnant with the couple’s second child.
The sources are saying the removal is happening at the request of John F. Kelly, the recently appointed chief of staff, a source told the New York Times. Scaramucci had boasted that he reported directly to the president rather than the chief of staff.
“Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge,” said the source.
The sources did not say if Scaramucci will find employment in the White House with another position, or if he will leave altogether. Scaramucci has had quite the tough week. People are already reacting to his removal on Twitter.
