It's hard to believe the Democrats are still using the same rhetoric after the horrific videos have surfaced about Planned Parenthood.
If you have somehow been spared from hearing and seeing the horrific remarks and practices of Planned Parenthood, the gist of it is that they have been caught on camera callously talking about crushing babies in different ways to get parts to give to research facilities, allegedly for profit--which is against the law.
Of course, they are denying it, but the videos (and reportedly, there are more to come) have really damaged Planned Parenthood's image in the public eye.
On Monday, Fox News reported that the Senate is to vote on defunding Planned Parenthood, since millions of our tax-payer dollars go to this terrible organization. Ultimately the Senate failed in their quest to revive moral integrity in this country. Not enough votes were garnered to defund Planned Parenthood.
But the fight is just beginning. Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul has a great solution. Give Planned Parenthood's money to health centers across the country that provide similar services with the exception of abortions.
"I think most Americans don't want their tax dollars going to this,” he said. “So I think when something is so morally repugnant to so many people, why should tax dollars go to this?”
Morally repugnant. That is exactly what many people feel in light of seeing the heartless videos of Planned Parenthood.
But the Democrats are still using their same rhetoric. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, said, "They're attacking women's health." And the White House says they will block any legislation to defund Planned Parenthood.
Attacking women's health? Many find this hard to swallow as the videos have shown Planned Parenthood admitting to altering abortion procedures to better recover usable tissue. That lack of ethics and morality does nothing to increase a woman's health.
The videos have cast major doubt in the public eye over whether women's health is really Planned Parenthood's first priority, or whether it's profit. In any event, it's now become a very suspect organization, especially with millions of tax dollars funding it.
"So it would be much less emotional for everyone if we just funded community health centers and didn't fund Planned Parenthood,” Paul said.
Do you agree with Paul's solution?
