Just a couple hours after demanding an investigation into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for his ties to Putin and posting a photo of Schumer eating donuts with the Russian prime minister, President Trump took to Twitter to demand an investigation into House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as well.
Both Schumer and Pelosi have been leading a constant barrage of Democrats insisting that President Trump is closely tied to Russia, cannot be trusted with Russia-America affairs, and can attribute his unfair victory to Russian.
But Trump has been firing back with both barrels Friday afternoon, writing on Twitter: “I hereby demand a second investigation, after Schumer, of Pelosi for her close ties to Russia, and lying about it.”
With his comment he posted a link to a Politico story highlighting a photo that contradicts Pelosi’s recent claim that she did not meet with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
When asked by Politico to clear up the discrepancy between her claim and the photo showing her in a meeting with Kislyak, a Pelosi spokesman backpedaled and said that Pelosi simply meant “she has never had a private one-on-one with him.”
Some people are taking Trump’s demands for investigations as him being facetious while pointing out Democrat hypocrisy, but others believe he’s being serious and truly is calling for a full investigation of both Democrat leaders.
