President Donald J. Trump arrived in his first destination overseas, Saudi Arabia, as President of the United States.

Trump’s visit comes after a strained U.S.-Saudi relationship under former president Barack Obama. Obama refused to directly fight against the Syrian government at the time, which upset Saudi Arabia among other decisions under the Obama administration.

However, President Trump’s visit has already helped mend the strained relationship.

ABC News reported a Saudi news reporter wrote that Trump’s visit to the area is restoring "what Obama ruined."

In early May of 2017, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed also mentioned that Obama wasted multiple opportunities.

Trump was warmly welcomed, received a gold medal of the nation’s highest honor by King Salman, signed a $110 billion arms deal that benefits both parties, and even participated in a sword dance with the people of Saudi Arabia.

This is much different than Obama’s visit to the country.
