Rescue workers are miraculously still finding a few people alive today days after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage to some structures in Taiwan Friday afternoon (early Saturday morning in Taiwan).
According to CBS News, four people have been rescued today from the crumpled debris of a 17-story apartment building that collapsed. The death toll of the quake is currently at 38 people with most of them dying in that building. It's believed that more than 100 people, dead or alive, may still be trapped.
One of the survivors lived after her husband died while using his body to shield her. An 8-year-old girl who was rescued had been trapped for 61 hours.
Tainan city's mayor Lai Ching-Te said this about the 8-year-old: "She is awake, but looks dehydrated, lost some temperature but she's awake and her blood pressure is OK. I asked her if there's anything wrong with her body. She shook her head."
Please join us in continuing to pray for the rescue workers that they get to more survivors in time! And Father, we ask that you bring the victims' families help and comfort and draw them to You.
