After speaking to Joshua, they notified authorities, who arrested him without incident.
Knowing he was well armed, authorities had been dreading a possible gun battle with the girls right in the middle of it.
“He’s prepared for, based on the amount of ammunition he has, something greater than we already are dealing with,” Eureka County Sheriff Keith Logan had said Monday afternoon.
But by evening, Joshua had been captured and the girls had been found safe. They were taken to a hospital to be treated for exposure.
The girls’ mother has been in an ongoing custody dispute with Joshua.
Neighbors said they were surprised by the news of his flight with the girls because he seemed like a nice guy.
Thank you for your prayers for their safe return!
