Police Searching For Two Suspects As School Reels From Shooting
UPDATE AT 11:18 A.M. CENTRAL — The high-school-aged shooter was a 14-year-old female student who targeted another female student, according to News West 9. The federal officer who was shot was accidentally shot by a U.S. Marshal.
UPDATE AT 11:02 A.M. CENTRAL — According to ABC 13, police are reporting that a high school-aged shooter is deceased after an apparent self-inflicted wound. Authorities believe now that there was only one shooter. A police officer was also shot, but accidentally.
Police in West Texas are scrambling to get ahold of a shooting situation at Alpine High School this morning.
According to My San Antonio, the small campus and its surrounding areas are in "critical lockdown" as police search for two possible shooters. At least one gunshot victim has been found.
Few details are known at this time, but U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego asked for prayers, writing on Twitter: "As we all wait for more information, please keep Alpine — Alpine's kids — in your prayers this morning."
