Please Pray! Hundreds Still Trapped In Collapsed Building, Reports Say

Please pray for the safety of the rescue workers and victims in Taiwan!

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that hundreds of people may still be trapped in a collapsed 17-story residential building after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake rocked the southern portion of the island nation. The epicenter is near Tainan, a city of two million. Details are still scarce, and no death toll has been released with many people still unaccounted for.

Derek Hoerler, a California teacher who lives near the quake, said, "It was not a rolling gentle earthquake, but a violent jerking motion. The walls were shaking and you could hear the building and windows moving. It lasted at least a minute with swaying afterwards. I felt complete terror. Biggest earthquake I've felt, and I'm from California."

The Associated Press reports that at least one other building has collapsed, and water and gas lines have broken, adding to the danger survivors and rescuers are facing.
