People on the left and the right are calling out Hillary Clinton. It’s been five days since the New York Times broke the news of her friend, Harvey Weinstein’s long history as a sexual predator. Weinstein has since admitted to the allegations, but Clinton’s has been mum.

Clinton claims to be a champion for women, so her silence on the producer Democratic backer’s actions rings especially loud. In an article by CNN’s Chris Cillizza, asks why the Clintons and Obama have been silent on Weinstein.

He notes that Weinstein has already admitted to and apologized for his actions and been fired by the board of directors of The Weinstein Company. He added that many Democrats who Weinstein gave money over the years have returned those donations or given them to charity.

“All of which makes the silence from Obama and the Clintons all the more stark—particularly because the trio's ties to Weinstein run deep,” said Cillizza.

Over the years, Weinstein bundled for Obama and Clinton, and he also hosted fundraisers for Obama and Clinton at his private homes. Not only that, but they also praised him throughout the years.

In 2013, Michelle Obama praised him at a White House symposium. The symposium was for student filmmakers.

“I want to start by thanking Harvey Weinstein for organizing this amazing day," she said. "Harvey. This is possible because of Harvey. He is a wonderful human being, a good friend and just a powerhouse."

On Monday night, Hillary spoke at a book event at the University of California Davis. During the more than an hour she spoke, she never once mentioned Weinstein.

The uproar erupted on Twitter. Everyone from CNN correspondents to Donald Trump Jr. commented on her silence.

Early Monday afternoon, Clinton retweeted a statement about Weinstein. The short statement simply said she was appalled, but it didn't go into what she would do about the $1.5 million Weinstein had donated to her campaigns.

Is her statement enough? Why did she wait so long to make it?

In other news, an actress was arrested for trying to push a woman off a subway platform. Why did she do it?
