Oscar Nominations Favor Lesbian And Transgender Films More Than Ever

Some people would say that art reflects culture, but in some cases art is used by activists to push culture in a particular direction. That may be the case with the Oscars' list of nominations for their awards show next February.

According to Showbiz 411, the films most likely to win big include the story of a transgender man's transition in "The Danish Girl," a lesbian woman trying to raise money for her grandaughter's abortion in "Grandma," and lesbian love story set in the '50s in "Carol."

But religion is not absent from the lineup either. Nominee "Spotlight" features the exposing of 90 pedophile priests.

Do you think Hollywood is trying extra hard to push a particular set of agendas here?
