Oprah Winfrey has been the talk of the nation in recent days following the rumors about her potential 2020 presidential run. Suspicions escalated after her monumental Golden Globes speech where she emphasized, “A new day is on the horizon.”
In January, Oprah first broke her silence on the rumors during an interview with InStyle. Her comments led the public to believe that a presidential run was off the table.
“I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not do. And so it’s not something that interests me,” she said. “I don’t have the DNA for it…That’s not me.”
On Thursday, February 9th, Oprah officially answered the big question: Is she running for president against Donald Trump in 2020?
While talking with Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda in a live interview, Oprah shut down the possibility for the second time, stated CNN.
TMZ shared video footage of Oprah’s interview.
While discussing how he can help people “all over the world,” Miranda stated, “I’m not running for public office. I’m not doing anything like that.”
Oprah quickly chimed in, “I’m not either!” as the audience roared with laughter and cheering.
