About a week ago, the clever folks at Campus Reform decided to interview students at the famous New York University to ask them their opinion of “last night’s” State of the Union Address by President Trump. The only problem is, the speech won’t be given until tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 30).
As Campus Reform media director Cabot Phillips walked around campus with a camera and microphone and asked students to comment on the SOTUA, they were quick to talk about how racist and offensive it was but unwilling to admit they hadn’t actually watched it — or didn’t know when it was taking place.
“Quite racist, at the very least, if not up there with most racist,” one young woman commented.
“Ya, wow, it’s already quickly climbing the scale,” Phillips replied with mock surprise.
Commenting on the immigration stance Trump supposedly took in “last night’s” speech, another student replied, ‘Very offensive. It’s something that I wouldn’t have expected to happen in our lifetime.
“Pretty ugly. I believe what I’m hearing about his rough nature and the hate that he probably said,” said one student who probably admitted that she hadn’t actually watched the SOTUA.
“Is there any one thing in particular you saw people most upset about?” Phillips asked another woman.
She replied, “Probably with immigration going on with the whole DACA thing and him trying to build the wall.”
