Michael Phelps and wife Nicole announced the birth of their second son, Beckett Richard, arriving Monday, February 12. Beckett joins his 21-month older brother Boomer Robert.
The 28-time Olympics gold medalist, 32, and his wife Nicole, former Miss California USA, 32, shared the new birth of Beckett Richard with friends and family through Instagram.
“Magic moments yesterday… Nicole and I would like to introduce Beckett Richard Phelps to the world!” Phelps captioned in an Instagram photo. “We had a healthy baby boy and a healthy mama.”
“I truly do feel like the happiest man in the world. Being able to build our family to now 4 (6 with doggies) is so incredible! #familyof4now,” he added.
Even Boomer took to Instagram to celebrate Beckett. He wrote, “I am officially a big bro!!! All I wanna do is hold him! I can’t wait til I get to teach him so many cool things about the world!! #bigbro,” the caption read of Phelps and his two sons.
Phelps and his wife welcomed Boomer into the world in May 2016. They married later that year in a double ceremony. First, they wed in June and then in late October they held another larger ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
According to People, Phelps had before that they were ready for more kids but weren’t sure when. They had mentioned that they were looking forward to growing their family.
“I’m sure I’m getting pressure,” said Phelps,” he teased. “Trying to get moving on some things.”
