In response to every madman who uses a gun to commit a crime, the Obama administration drools over how to take away constitutionally protected rights from lawful Americans. The response in light of the recent terrorist act in San Bernardino is no different.
According to Breitbart, the Obama administration is utterly confused as to why Americans would want to arm themselves after the terrorist attack in San Bernardino. As Obama’s spokesperson, Josh Earnest addressed the media and spoke about the record setting gun sales on Black Friday, “In some cases these are individuals who believe that they need to buy a gun so that they can better protect themselves. In some cases because it’s Black Friday, they probably are going and purchasing a gift for a friend or a loved one who is a gun enthusiast. I’m just pointing out that there are already an astonishing number of guns on the streets of America and far too many innocent Americans who are being killed by them.”
Earnest didn’t stop there. He continued the biased rhetoric against citizens who want to protect themselves. “Ready access to guns and the proliferation of violent weapons of war has not led to fewer gun deaths. It’s tragic that even in the situation where we have lots of guns on the streets that lead to lots of innocent Americans being killed, that the response to that is that a whole lot more guns end up on the streets.”
Why the administration continues to try and connect law abiding gun owners to criminals and terrorists is not only mind-boggling, it is dangerous. Obama and his cohorts have told Americans to not judge all Muslims because of the actions of radical Islamic terrorists, but then turns around and vilifies all gun owners for the actions of a few crazed individuals.
The Obama administration never takes the time to address the problem of criminals with guns or the high crime rate in the cities with the strictest gun laws. They believe that somehow, honest Americans with legal weapons are the problem instead of the solution.
The Obama administration’s disdain for the constitution and law abiding citizens is troubling. Do you agree?
