Nike Makes Big Announcement For Female, Muslim Athletes!

Nike is making headlines after announcing their plans to launch a hijab made for athletic wear.

Set to launch in the spring of 2018, it's creation is in response to a growing number of Islamic women seeking to play athletics, according to the Daily Mail.

Nie released a statement about the new product.

"The Nike Pro Hijab may have been more than a year in the making, but its impetus can be traced much further back, to an ongoing cultural shift that has seen more women than ever embracing sport."

According to reports, Nike is said to have been inspired to launch the hijab after watching Sarah Attar, a Saudi Arabian woman, compete in the 800m race at the London Olympics in 2012. During her race, Attar wore a hijab.
