Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, was found dead at a private residence in Los Angeles in July. The singer was 41 years old, and his death was ruled as a suicide.

Bennington had been open about his ongoing battle with depression, though his death came as a shock to all. The timing of his death was coincidental, as it was the same day as his best friend's birthday who had died by suicide earlier in the year.

Bennington's bandmates released a statement about their lead singer's death. They talked about how instrumental Bennington was in each of their lives.

They said, "Talking with you about the years ahead together, your excitement was infectious. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled—a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing. We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal."

"After all, it was the way you sang about those demons that made everyone fall in love with you in the first place," they continued. "You fearlessly put them on display, and in doing so, brought us together and taught us to be more human. You had the biggest heart, and managed to wear it on your sleeve.”

Now, a new video has been released that was filmed just days before Chester's death. Linkin Park was featured on an episode of Apple Music's "Carpool Karaoke" that was released on Thursday.

After Bennington's death, the executive producer of "Carpool Karaoke" said that they did not know if they would ever air the episode. He said that it would be entirely dependent on what Bennington's family requested. After the family's permission, the show was aired

Before the episode began, a message appeared on the screen. It said, "With the blessing of Chester's family and his bandmates, we share this episode, and dedicate it to the memory of Chester."

Bennington appeared to be joyful throughout the video, making jokes and singing along to his own songs. At one point Chester told the host, "This is probably the greatest day of my life, right now...This is so fun! This is the best!"

Near the end of the episode, the singer began talking about his kids. He said he wants them to figure out what they are passionate about in life, whether sports or music or anything else.

Linkin Park was not only in headlines today because of the release of this video, but also for some other good news. The band was nominated for the American Music Awards for "Favorite Artist" in their genre.
