This hasn't been a good end of the week for Hillary Clinton and her campaign to be our next president. Yesterday, the FBI announced they were reopening their criminal investigation into her e-mail scandal after finding new evidence on electronic devices owned by Hillary's aide Huma Abedin and her husband, the embattled Anthony Weiner.
Now today, the Observer was handed an audio tape of Hillary talking about interfering in the results of the Palestinian election. This ironically was released after a week of Democrats insisting that Donald Trump's claims of a rigged U.S. election are ridiculous and unfounded.
The tape given to the Observer from Eli Chomsky, a Jewish Press editor, reveals a Sept. 5, 2006 conversation with Hillary about the Palestinian elections earlier that year. In the audio recording, Hillary suggests she has the ability and desire to rig another country's election.
“I do not think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories," Hillary can be heard saying. "I think that was a big mistake. And if we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win.”
Chomsky told the Observer that he was taken back at the time that “anyone could support the idea — offered by a national political leader, no less — that the U.S. should be in the business of fixing foreign elections.”
