New School Lunch Guidelines Leads To More Of THIS

Apparently the U.S. government can't get your kids to eat their fruits and veggies either.  According to CBS Connecticut, new federal guidelines for healthier lunches are sending a lot of food into the trash instead of students' mouths.

University of Vermont research revealed that the increased requirement of fruits and vegetables in the lunch serving trays is largely responsible for a 56% increase in food waste.

Researchers think that the solution may be in better presenting healthy options, such as including dips for the fruit or making fruits and veggies a part of meals rather than as a side option.

Do you think it's the schools or the parents who should make decisions about their kids and their eating habits?
