UPDATE: The baby has been found safe, and the couple has been arrested. They were discovered by police in a basement in Fletcher, North Carolina and taken into custody Wednesday evening, according to Fox Carolina.

A manhunt is underway after authorities sent out a nationwide Amber Alert in hopes that the public will help them rescue 3-month-old Cali Marie Cochran. Her suspected abductors are already facing felony child abuse charges.

On Tuesday morning, Cali went missing from her home in Clyde, North Carolina, around 20 miles west of Asheville. Authorities believe she was taken by her parents, Rex and Heather Cochran, who do not have legal custody of her, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The abuse charges they face are out of North Dakota, according to ABC 7.

CBS affiliate WBTW says South Carolina law enforcement officers are on the lookout because it’s believed the kidnapping suspects may be heading south. Two possible destinations are Valdosta, Georgia and Ocala, Florida.

They’re believed to be driving one of two vehicles. Keep an eye out for a gray 1999 GMC Suburban with a North Dakota license plate that reads 489-AWH. A similar vehicle is pictured below:

Also look for a blue 2001 Ford Mustang. The license plate is unknown. A similar vehicle is pictured below:

3-month-old Cali is white and has brown hair. She weighs only 10 pounds and is 20 inches long.

39-year-old Rex is white and has brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. 31-year-old Heather is white and has brown hair and green eyes. She is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

If you spot them or see their vehicles, please call the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office at 828-452-6600 or dial 911. Also call them if you have any other information related to the kidnapping.

Let your friends and family know so that they can be on the lookout, too! In other heart-wrenching news, a community is reeling after an elementary school collapsed, killing and trapping dozens of children inside. Please pray!
