On Monday, January 8, sports reporter Courtney Roland was discovered safely after she went missing the day before under suspicious circumstances. The Texas A&M reporter was supposed to meet up with her roommate on Sunday afternoon but never showed up to their agreed location.
What made the situation suspicious was the fact that on early Sunday morning, Roland sent an eerie text to her roommate. She said that there was a suspicious looking man in a blue truck who was following her back to her house.
When Roland did not show up on Sunday afternoon, her roommate assumed the worst. On early Monday morning, police discovered the reporter's 2010 white Jeep Cherokee located in the Galleria area of Houston. Along with the vehicle were her purse, phone, and other belongings.
Luckily, Roland was found safe later in the day on Monday. The Houston Police released a statement about the situation:
Now, the mystery has been solved about why Roland went missing in the first place. The 29-year-old released a statement about her disappearance.
Roland said, "On Friday I was released from Houston Methodist Medical Center. After undergoing five days of extensive testing, doctors determined I suffered an adverse reaction to my prescription medication."
She continued, "I am doing much better and look forward to returning back to work covering Texas A&M football for Rivals.com when the time is right. I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Houston Methodist for providing me with expert medical care."
"I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts, prayers, and support. I would also like to thank the Houston Police Department for their efforts," she concluded. "My family and I are so appreciative of the kindness and thoughtfulness my friends and so many of you showed me. I wish I could thank each of you in person."
After the results came back from medical examinations, police are no longer suspecting that there was any foul play. The reporter still says that she does not remember everything that happened to her.
Thankfully, Roland is safe and the doctors were able to determine the cause of the odd situation. Thank you for praying with us last week when she went missing! In other recent news, MLK's niece just defended Trump and talked about what he's done for the black community on MLK day.
