It has been making headlines this morning that former guitarist for Marilyn Manson, Scott Putesky, best known as Daisy Berkowitz, passed away at 49 years old. The death occurred after a difficult, four year battle with stage-four colon cancer.

Putesky played guitar with Marilyn Manson from 1989 to 1996, and performed on several of his albums, before leaving the band. Manson has written that he is deeply saddened by his former friend's death, claiming that he will always cherish their times writing music together. He also urged his own fans to listen to Putesky's playing.

The guitarist was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer in August 2013. Six days before his death, Putesky posted a photo to Instagram, according to Rollingstone, which showed his eyes yellowed from jaundice, a side effect of deadly cancer.

"I got a lot of support," he said, referencing his battle with cancer. "Ultimately though, I fight it alone. It’s tough. I'm doing well with it but sometimes it will be the middle of the night and I’ll be trying to sleep and I'll start thinking negative thoughts. It just happens."

It was reported earlier this month that Marilyn Manson was performing at a New York City concert when things went tragically wrong. Two giant gun props came crashing down onto him, sending the performer to a nearby hospital, according to TMZ.

Manson, 48, was reportedly about an hour into his show at Hammerstein Ballroom, performing one of his more popular pieces "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" when the stage prop quickly fell onto him.

Reports claim that it took several minutes for emergency workers to get Manson out from underneath the props. When he was finally removed from underneath them, he was put onto a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The Guardian reports that the musician laid on stage for as long as 15 minutes before finally being put onto the stretcher.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is famous for his 1990s hits. He is extremely controversial and generally disliked by Christian audiences. His stage named derived from actor Marilyn Monroe and cult leader Charles Manson.

Previous stage stunts have included the disgusting act of ripping pages out of a Bible. He also caused controversy after the teenage gunmen in the Columbine shooting was reported to be a fan of Manson's music.
