Missing NFL Player Found Dead in River

Former NFL Player James Hardy III was found dead in the Maumee River in Indiana on Wednesday, June 7th of 2017. His family reported him missing to police at the end of May.

According to Wane, first responders were called to the river on Wednesday after a body was seen in the water. Coroners identified the following day that the body was James Hardy. However, they have not yet confirmed the cause of death.

An investigation is still ongoing to determine more details, but authorities say it appears his body had been in the river for several days, TMZ reports.

Hardy played for the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens during his time in the NFL from 2008-2011.
