Things between wives and ex-wives are never pretty, but when you toss in a presidency and the press? Well, it has the potential to get a lot uglier.

Many have actually been quite impressed with the way the various members of the Trump family (including half-siblings, ex-wives, and step-mothers) have maintained a relatively amicable relationship throughout the years. But everything has its hiccups. And this is one of them.

In an interview just released today, Ivana Trump (Donald's first wife and mother to Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric) said that she is the real First Lady, shares CNN. "I have the direct number to White House but I don't really want to call him there because Melania is there and I don't really want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically first Trump wife, OK? I'm first lady, OK?" she said, laughing.

Right after the interview's release, Melania Trump's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, released this sharp response: "Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, DC, and is honored by her role as first lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books," Grisham said. "There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise."

Ivana's interview comes ahead of the release of her memoir, "Raising Trump." During the interview, she also shared how Trump was as a father to her three children: "Donald was on the telephone making the deals," she said.

"He was loving father, don't get me wrong. And he was a good provider. But he was not a father which would take a stroll and go to Central Park or go play baseball with them. It was only until they were about 18 years old he could communicate with them, because he could talk business with them," Ivana continued.

What do you think of the exchange between Ivana and Melania? Do you think Ivana was asking for trouble with her comments? And how do you think Melania handled it? Share what you think in the comments! Thank you!

President Trump just made headlines for what he said about today's national holiday, Columbus Day. Do you agree with him?
