Megyn Kelly took time out of her vacation on Thursday to ask a simple, one-word question that a lot of Republican voters are asking. “Seriously?”
On Wednesday night, Trump took to twitter to make a vile tweet about Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi. Trump retweeted a candid photo of Heidi next to staged photo of Melania with the caption “No need to spill the beans, the images are worth a thousand words.”
The “wife feud” started when an anti-Trump Super PAC released an ad that featured Trump’s wife, Melania, and her nude photos that she had taken for a magazine photo shoot. Donald took offense and wrongly assumed that Cruz had been behind the ad. Cruz has vehemently denied involvement. Despite the Super PAC being responsible for the ad, Trump continued to attack Heidi.
What is clear is that this election has sunk to new lows. Whether or not you support Trump, Cruz, Kasich, Clinton, or Sanders, these tabloid attacks are disgusting and divisive.
At the rate things are going, by the end of the Republican primary supporters of each candidate will hate the other candidates so fiercely that they will stay home and not vote. How can there be unity in the party when the candidates are willing to attack each other’s wives for no substantial reason other than their looks?
This is a sad day in America.
