McDonald’s Tweet Just Started An Online War
McDonald’s, one of the world’s largest chain restaurants, appeared to have criticized President Donald J. Trump on Twitter Thursday morning:
Shortly after, the company posted another tweet saying, “Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.”
The original tweet about Trump is now gone, but users are requesting that McDonald’s reposts it.
“I’ll buy 100 McNuggets right now if you put the tweet back up.”
People continue to piggyback the idea of purchasing food if they publicly bash Trump saying ‘I’ll throw in another 100’ then 200... 300... and one person even offers to donate 500 McNuggets to the homeless.
Others are upset about the tweet and don’t necessarily believe the Twitter account was hacked, but a possible publicity stunt or an angry, liberal employee. Some went as far as threatening to boycott, even though the Tweet may have not come from the company itself.
