President Donald Trump was casually walking into a Senate GOP lunch on Tuesday, October 24th. As Trump arrived in the U.S. Capitol building, reporters were crowded in a corner, yelling questions out to the president.

To everyone’s surprise, several tiny Russian flags suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Heads turned back and noticed that a man threw the flags down at President Trump as he shouted, “Trump is treason! Trump is treason!”

People swarmed to pull him out of the building and started scooping up all of the flags off of the ground. Despite being forcefully taken out of the crowd, he continued shouting, “Why are you talking about tax cuts when you should be talking about treason? This president has conspired with agents of the Russian government. We should be talking about treason in Congress, not about tax cuts!"

According to NBC News, the man is actually a protester named Ryan Clayton from “Americans Take Action,” an organization dedicated to saving democracy by impeaching Trump. Their website states, “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are under attack with Trump in the White House. We must impeach Trump to save democracy in America. Join the fight today!”

A reporter from the Associated Press, Erica Werner, shared a photo of the flags on social media. The flags, which did indeed resemble the Russian flag, also had "Trump" printed on it.

President Trump handled the situation quite well, appearing to not be bothered at all. In the video, viewers can see Trump giving the protester a “thumbs-up.”
