A major change took place in the White House on June 19th; Sean Spicer was promoted to a new role, reports Fox News. Former Press Secretary representing President Donald Trump will now oversee all communications, including the press office, with a more ‘behind the scenes and strategy’ focus.
The White House released a statement:
“We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation. As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office.”
Previously, Spicer was performing both roles. He will now step back from the White House press briefings, but may still speak in the public eye occasionally. A replacement for the Press Secretary position has not been confirmed.
This major change takes places after the firing of Former FBI Director James Comey and seeking expansion with White House communications.
