As the blame game goes around for who is the most responsible for inspiring outspoken anti-President Trump and pro-Bernie Sanders socialist James T. Hodgkinson to attack a group of congressional Republican’s baseball practice, one mainstream media host — oddly enough — is blaming Trump.
Or perhaps it’s not so odd. With Hodgkinson’s background filled with liberal TV news shows, Occupy Wall Street and #Resistance support, and rants against Trump and other Republicans, it’s hard for the mainstream media to spin this story into an indictment of those on the right side of the political aisle.
But they’re certainly trying. A good case in point is what Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” strongly insinuated early Thursday.
“Well, Joe, I think that very carefully we have to talk about that added dynamic here,” Mika began. “Because you have the right and the left — the extremes on the right and the left. You have fake news. You have conspiracy theorists who are really muddying the waters. And we have become desensitized.”
Then she took a dig at Trump, saying, “We also have a president who pushes fake news and conspiracy theories, from birtherism to promoting violence on the campaign trail. I mean, this is the new dynamic here.”
“I’m not putting anything squarely on the president, but I have to say, that this is the new added dynamic to what is a very dangerous climate,” she concluded.
Absent from her comments was any mention of how most of the politically inspired violence from the campaign trail to present day have been solidly on the left side of the aisle.
