Politically conservative co-host Candace Cameron Bure got fired up today when one of her liberal co-hosts on "The View" accused Ted Cruz of being unconstitutional in his protest of San Francisco 49ers player Colin Kaepernick's protest.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg opened the "hot topic" segment by saying, "In other protest news, NFL players boycotting the National Anthem is extending to other pro sports, and Ted Cruz — someone I'd boycott — wants to boycott the quote 'rich, spoiled athletes' who are taking a knee. So is he trying to punish them for exercising their right for free speech?"
Uncompromisingly liberal co-host Joy Behar instantly spoke up, scoffing, "You know, he's a rarity, Ted Cruz, because here you have a United States that doesn't know the Constitution, and maybe he needs to read it."
"Ted Cruz is a Constitutionalist!" Candace shot back.
"Well, then how come he's going against the Constitution?" Behar replied.
"He has the right to protest their protest!" Candace explained. "It doesn't make it all right, but he has the right to!"
What do you think of her reply?
