In June, a shooter targeted prominent Republicans and shot House Majority Whip, Steve Scalise. After some touch-and-go days, he was released from the hospital, and his rep said he was doing well. However, on July 5th, his rep released the troubling news that he had been readmitted to the intensive care unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The relapse is due to an infection, and he is now listed in ”serious” condition.
While any healthy person would be saddened by this news, a Liberal professor, Carol Anderson, used it as an excuse to make jabs at the Republican Obamacare repeal. She took to Twitter to express her fake condolences, saying "Wow! It's a good thing that he has health insurance and that there aren't any caps."
But a lot of people on Twitter weren't impressed by her comments. One man tweeted, "What in the world is the matter with you? This man is fighting for his life."
But Anderson wasn't chastened. She replied by equating Scalise with the people who may lose their insurance. "As are millions of Americans who are scared that they're going to lose their health insurance under GOP plan. We're all one calamity away."
Another tweeter pointed out her lack of empathy.
Please keep Scalise and his family in your prayers as they undergo another medical emergency. Hopefully, his family won't be put through the same kind of vitriol the endured after he was shot, but this professor's comments make it seem like the left isn't done attacking Scalise.
