As Texans were risking their lives to save each other from the destruction wrought by Hurricane Harvey, over 2,000 demonstrators were protesting President Trump during a rally in Berkeley, California. And then violence broke out at the “Rally Against Hate.”
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Sunday rally was largely peaceful until a group of 100 demonstrators appearing to be Antifa members — a masked group praised by the left — circumvented all the security checks in order to join the protest without being stopped by police for having weapons.
And that’s when the violence began against anyone not in agreement with the rally. Among the people attacked was a Latino father and son who were holding up a “God Bless Donald Trump” sign.
“You are an immigrant. You should be ashamed of yourself,” one woman yelled, assuming that the two were immigrants because of the color of their skin.
The Review-Journal later learned that the father was from Mexico but supported Trump’s wall.
Masked Antifa members, along with some unmasked protesters, descended upon them, cursing at them and assaulting them in a video that contains far too much profanity to directly featured on this website. The scene was brutal.
In the video, which is just over two minutes long, the son — who appears to be in his late teens or early twenties — can be seen fighting as a crowd surrounds him and starts punching him.
“That’s my son you guys are beating up!” the father yells as he’s shielded by a young white man in a yellow shirt who may have been one of the few counter-protesters present.
The son is seen spraying pepper spray as he and his dad quickly back up to get away from the crowd. But the Antifa thugs with their shields and clubs keep coming after them.
The crowd then catches up to the father and son again, brutally beating them with fists and shields as someone yells, “Get his pepper spray! Get his pepper spray!”
The son keeps swinging in self-defense as his father tries to block some of the attackers’ blows.
“Leave them alone. Leave them alone,” suggests someone as the father and son are chased across a park.
“Why leave them alone?” another person questions.
Then the son bodily shields his dad from the punches as the older man falls to the ground under the assault. One young woman is seen pulling the son away from protecting his dad while screaming with senseless, maniacal rage at him.
The young man in the yellow shirt jumps back into the fray to protect the two victims. That’s when armored police officers show up and shove the attackers back as they pull the father and son to safety.
Ironically, the shields the brutal attackers were holding had two words written on them: “No hate.”
What do you think of this? In other news, a professor was just fired after giving a lame following his tweet that Texans deserved Hurricane Harvey.
