Lady Gaga revealed today that she had been hospitalized with "severe physical pain." Earlier this week, she opened up about her diagnosis of fibromyalgia, which causes chronic pain.
Gaga, 31, shared a statement on her twitter that explained the situation. It also announced that she wouldn't be able to be apart of the Rock in Rio festival on Friday.
"Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform," reads the statement. "As a result, she sadly must withdraw from this Friday's Rock in Rio performance. Lady Gaga is under the care of expert medical professionals. She sends her love to all her fans in Rio and thanks them for their support and understanding."
Gaga also clarified the situation on her Twitter. She wanted to make sure her fans knew about the severity of the situation.
Before the announcement, she hinted at the situation.
"Thought ice helped #Fibromyalgia. I was wrong & making it worse. Warm/Heat is better. Electric Heated Blanket, Infrared Sauna, Epsom Baths."
Later, she Tweeted the following.
In her final tweet on the matter, she emphasized the fact that this isn't just normal wear and tear from a tour.
"I was taken to the hospital it's not simply hip pain or wear & tear from tour, I'm in severe pain. I'm in good hands w/ the very best doctors," she wrote.
