Kid Rock announced on Wednesday that he is running for a Michigan state Senate seat. The singer would run on the Republican ticket against the incumbent Democrat, Debbie Stabenow.
He has been taking to social media to promote his campaign, as well as his website: http://kidrockforsenate.com
This week on his social media accounts, the artist released what part of his campaign platform would entail. He announced this in response to questions that he had been receiving about being serious about running for political office.
Kid Rock said that he wanted to work for all Americans who work hard. He thinks that everyone has a right to “easily understand and navigate” laws and other codes that affect our day to day lives.
When opposing Democrat Sen. Stabenow heard news of Kid Rock’s plans, she called it a publicity stunt. She said, “I know we both share a love of music. I concede he’s better at playing guitar and I’ll keep doing what I do best: fighting for Michigan.”
Rock’s responded to that message with inclinations of his campaign platform. He posted on his Facebook account the following:
“Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind. I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying people, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bull—“
Kid Rock will run on the Republican ticket and holds to more conservative views on politics. He supported the Republican ticket in the most recent election.
What do you think? Will Kid Rock become the first Republican Senator in Michigan since 1998?
