Kathy Griffin made major headlines earlier this year after posting a controversial photo of her holding President Donald Trump’s decapitated head. She later begged for forgiveness by posting an apology video and removing the inappropriate photo. Her hope was to make a strong ‘political statement’, but many audiences, including liberals, thought her photo stunt was extremely concerning.
After the outrage, Griffin was fired from multiple jobs and has been put under federal investigation by the Secret Service. However, since then, she called Trump a ‘bully’ during a press conference, has removed the apology video from her page, and reportedly ‘doesn’t care anymore’. She commented on being under federal investigation via Twitter on June 27th.
According to Gossip Cop, she originally tweeted, “Q the botz & death threats, (I don’t give a f anymore [middle finger emoji]) but @tmz & @HarveyLevinTMZ may u never b under fed investigation like I am now.” She shortly deleted the tweet, then posted a similar message, but did not tag TMZ founder Harvey Levin and took out the first phrase. See the post below.
Griffin’s tweet was in response to an article posted by ThinkProgress titled, ‘The inside story of how TMZ quietly became America’s most potent pro-Trump media outlet.’ The article discusses how the website gradually became a Trump-supporting media source. Read the full article here.
