Ivanka Trump has always been the right-hand woman to her father, President Trump. She has been prominent in showing her support and work ethic, as a senior official, within the Trump Organization.
Since the Inauguration last January, there hasn't been any formal announcement as to what role Ivanka will have, if any, at the White House.
On Monday, it was announced that Ivanka will officially have her own office in the West Wing of the White House. While she will not have an official government role, her duties will include being the "eyes and ears" for the president.
She will also continue her focus on women's empowerment issues as well as being an advisor to her father on those issues.
"I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life," Trump said in a statement. "While there is no modern precedent for an adult child of the president, I will voluntarily follow all of the ethics rules placed on government employees."
According to a spokeswoman for Ivanka, she is going through the security clearance process as she is getting settled in her new office. She will also receive no salary for her role at the White House.
