As Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 1:9, "there is nothing new under the sun."
A scene from a "Dragnet" episode from 1967 shows Joe Friday and Bill Gannon giving a stern talk to a small group of teenagers who want to take America and remake it from the ground up, and the message they give them is every bit as relevant to today's protesting college generation.
Joe Friday: "Don't think you're the first generation that's felt dissatisfied. They all have, you know, about different things. And most of them didn't have the same freedoms and opportunity you do. The fact is, more people are living better right here than anywhere else every before in history, so don't expect us to roll over and play dead when you say you're dissatisfied."
