On Monday, President Trump made an important announcement about Utah's national monuments. He said that he will be making significant reductions on two national monuments in Utah: Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante.

This decision came after the president had ordered Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to review the monuments in April. His concern was that former presidents had designated such a large piece of land as a measure of "federal overreach."

Since the announcement was made, many people have been giving their opinions on the situation. One major retailer is now at war with Ryan Zinke, however, after their latest website rant.

Patagonia, a famous outdoor retailer, posted about the decision on their website. They posted a full black screen with the words, "The President Stole Your Land." Additionally, the company claimed that the president's decision was "illegal."

Now, Zinke is speaking out about the company's "shameful" post.

He said, "I understand fundraising for these special interest groups, but I think it's shameful and appalling that they would blatantly lie in order to put money in their coffers."

"You mean Patagonia made in China?" he continued. "This is an example of a special interest. What one square inch was stolen?  The federal state remains intact."

Zinke also noted that the size of the Utah monument currently has more square acreage than both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks put together.

After Zinke condemned the retailer, Patagonia has fought back. They said that they plan to sue the administration over their decision. They also issued a jab toward Zinke.

Patagonia spokeswoman Corley Kenna said, "Secretary Zinke's definition of a special interest is someone who hasn't flown him around on a private jet. We have been fighting for these lands for decades so that hunters, fishers, hikers and everyone else can use them and help us protect them."

What do you think about this fight between Zinke and Patagonia? Whose side are you on? In other recent news, a church is making headlines after their nativity scene was removed and destroyed.
