Iconic Comedian Passes Away After Battling Leukemia

Charlie Murphy is the older brother of the famous actor, Eddie Murphy.

Like his brother, Charlie was also a comedian who had been performing for decades.

"Though Murphy had long been on the comedy circuit, he rose to national prominence in 2003 as a co-star on Dave Chappelle's eponymous "Chappelle's Show." Murphy was also a writer for the sketch comedy show," according to NBC News.

Charlie's publicist has confirmed that the iconic comedian passed away after battling leukemia. He had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for the illness.

The entertainment industry has been shocked by his passing and sent out heartfelt tributes across social media.
