Huckabee Makes Big Announcement Following Iowa Caucus

On the night of the Iowa caucuses, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee made an announcement on Twitter: "I am officially suspending my campaign. Thank you for all your loyal support."

At 90% of votes reported, the Associated Press declared Cruz the winner with 27.7% of the vote. Trump got 24.3% with Rubio following closely at 23.1%. Carson garnered 9.3%, Paul received 4.5%, and Bush saw only 2.8%. Fiorina and Kasich followed with Huckabee coming in ninth, tied with Christie at 1.8%.

Huckabee won the Iowa GOP caucus in 2008, contributing to a recent trend of Iowa winners not securing the Republican nomination in the end.
